Whispering Pines Pet Resort offers private indoor/outdoor run dog boarding on a 12-acre country property in Longmont, Colorado, serving Boulder, Niwot, Erie, Lafayette, and the greater Boulder County area. Every dog stays in a private indoor/outdoor run with access to 18 play yards, and days are built around fit-based play groups (matched by size, temperament, and energy) with individualized handling for dogs who do better outside big groups. It's boarding designed for dogs who need more space, a calmer pace, and more attention than a standard indoor kennel can offer.
What's included in a boarding stay?
A private indoor/outdoor run with daytime outdoor access, weather permitting.
Daily one-on-one yard time: individual turnout in the morning and evening.
Meals served to your instructions, morning and evening, with medications given as directed.
A built-in midday rest so dogs aren't overstimulated.
An evening feeding and nighttime check-in before dogs settle for the night.
Fresh water, clean bedding, and daily-cleaned runs: baseline, not an upgrade.

What does a typical boarding day look like?
Boarding here is structured, not warehoused; dogs aren't left in a run all day until pickup. Every stay follows a dependable daily rhythm, but the pace inside that rhythm flexes to the dog: older dogs get more rest, high-energy dogs get more movement, and nervous dogs get a slower, quieter start.
A typical day looks like this:
Morning: Individual yard time for potty and turnout.
Breakfast: Fed to your instructions. If a dog isn't eating well, staff step in (warming food, adding a topper, or giving more time) and flag it to the manager on duty.
Late morning: Runs are cleaned and sanitized while dogs are out. Dogs signed up for an add-on playgroup or daycare-style play join their matched group; everyone else gets individual yard time.
Midday: Back to their runs for a rest period, with lunch served if requested.
Afternoon: More individual yard time (or add-on play), based on your dog's plan and how they're doing that day.
Dinner (around 5–6 p.m.): Followed by evening potty breaks or yard time.
Bedtime: Staff make sure every dog has water, bedding, and a final check before lights-out.
The structure stays consistent; the dog's experience inside it stays flexible. The goal is a dog who ends the day settled, fed, and sleeping well, not overstimulated or exhausted.

PRICING How much does dog boarding cost in Longmont?
Holiday rates: Thanksgiving week, and the week before Christmas through the weekend after New Year's, add +$5 per dog, per day. A $100 deposit reserves your space and applies to your bill. Holiday office hours may be limited, please call or text.
